I have a total of 27 years teaching experience . After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida (hence the name "HappyEdugator"), I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I went up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Last year, I went back to 1st grade in a private setting. I have traveled worldwide and am also fluent in Spanish.

Beginning of the Year PBIS Reward System. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Incentive System. Set up for back to school. Promotes positive behavior. If you are implementing PBIS, you must also develop a reward system for good behavior. In this reward system, students get rewards for being “Paw-some” kids. They will be motivated to do what PAWS stands for: Practice safety Act responsibly Work toward success Show respect This works best if your school mascot has PAWS. (panthers, tigers, cougars…etc) Developed for middle school. Also includes incentives for Character of the Month. This Rewards system includes a PAWS poster, "Paw-some" tickets, student warning cards, a discipline flow chart, and ten character education traits that can be promoted with PAWS. Directions included.
